Abelardo Lopez
Abelardo joined 3i in 2000 after completing
his MBA at IESE. He has worked for 3i in both Barcelona and Madrid. He
started his career at Axel Group, a corporate finance boutique in Madrid.
In 1996, he joined Arthur D. Little as a management consultant, where he
participated in the key milestones of the liberalisation of the
telecommunications sector in the Iberian Peninsula.
Abelardo has led or participated in four deals, including buyouts and
growth capital transactions in Spain and Portugal. He specialises in the
healthcare, and telecoms sectors. Key deals that he has been involved
include Fractus, an antenna technology developer in Barcelona, and Hospor
Hospitals in Portugal, a leading provider of healthcare services.
He has served on the boards of five companies during his time at 3i.
Abelardo has an MBA from Columbia IESE and degrees in law and economics
from ICADE.
